When companies package their products in retail cartons, they give their customers the impression of a high-quality product packaged securely. That’s why cartons are the retail package of choice for luxury cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals, premium dry foods, and even genuine automotive parts. But loading cartons by hand is a slow, wasteful process that hurts the bottom line. Automated cartoning equipment from Technik can help you reduce costs and increase output while still delivering the consistently high-quality packages your customers demand.
The JW CCM series compact cartoners from Technik offer the combination of features that help businesses meet any cartoning automation needs. The rotary turret design of the JW CCM compact cartoner lets it offer the smallest footprint in its class. Unlike other machines that use steel or aluminum arms to erect and support cartons, all carton contact parts are made of gentle PVC and other engineered thermoplastics, to treat cartons gently and avoid marring premium finishes and printing. Changeovers are fast, simple, and in most cases tool-free.
There are three basic models of CCM compact cartoners, each of which can be customized with printing, labeling, bar code verification, secondary packaging, and many other options, to meet the needs of your specific application. Our guide below will help show you the features and benefits of each model. We encourage you to contact Technik today with the details of your cartoning operation and let our experts help determine the ideal configuration for your needs.
Recommended Compact Cartoners from Technik Packaging Machinery
CCM-MV Compact Cartoner
Maximum flexibility per square foot
The hand-loaded CCM-MV is ideal for applications requiring flexibility. Its quick, repeatable changeover makes it practical for short product runs and for running a large number of SKUs on a single line. Hand loading the product allows a variety of different types of products to be run on the same machine without complicated loading systems. The size, flexibility, and value of the CCM-MV are ideal for contract packagers, companies packaging numerous different types of products on one line, and smaller packaging operations seeking a low-cost automation option.
Options include:
- Hot foil, thermal transfer, or inkjet printing
- Changeover tooling for reverse tuck, aeroplane tuck, and/or glued cartons
- Preprinted or print-and-apply label applicators
- Specialty carton shapes (e.g. gable top or diamond profile)
- Special magazine for autobottom/crush-lock cartons
- Bar code printing and verification
- Product/package serialization
CCM-AV Compact Cartoner
Maximum performance per square foot
The CCM-AV is based on the same vertical infeed layout as the CCM-MV, and has the same options available, but adds an automated infeed to increase output and save labor. A wide variety of infeeds are available for any type of vertically loaded product, including scales for individual pieces like candy, bottle, can, or bag loaders, and custom robotic pick and place systems to handle the most challenging products. Changeovers to different product sizes are still quick, easy, and repeatable. The CCM-AV is an ideal high-performance solution for any products that load vertically, such as food and beverage, cosmetics, and many industrial products.
Additional options include:
- Infeed weighing and collating systems
- Integration with customer production equipment
- Leaflet insertion
- Robotic pick and place carton loading
- Finished carton orienting, collating, and/or case packing
CCM-AH Compact Cartoner
Maximum integration per square foot
The CCM-AH takes the basic rotary turret concept of the CCM design and literally turns it on its side. By vertically orienting the turret, products can be loaded into cartons from the side, combining the utility of a traditional side-load cartoner with the compact size, easy changeover, and feature set of the CCM series. A variety of infeed conveyors can be loaded in batch or integrated directly with the customer’s production equipment to transfer product directly to the cartoner with no operator intervention. Pharmaceutical blisters and trays are ideal for the side-load layout of the CCM-AH, but many food and industrial products are also ideally suited for the CCM-AH.
Additional options include:
- Blister counting and stacking
- Integration with customer production equipment
- Robotic pick and place infeed conveyor loading
- Multiple leaflet/DFU stacking and insertion
- RFID insertion and verification
